My name is Lital Ten-Ami and I am a certified birth doula based in the Seattle area. I came to this work fueled by my passion to help other women during this transformational time in their lives. The moments surrounding childbirth are a unique time, a vulnerable time, and also a time of beauty and hope, when mothers need to feel safe and supported. I am thrilled to offer my caring and skilled support to women during this extraordinary journey.
My appreciation for this type of work began when I was newly pregnant with my first child. With my doula’s caring presence, we were able to guide my body and mind during this raw and transformative time. With this holistic approach of caring for my physical, emotional, and spiritual self, I was able to achieve my goal of a natural unmedicated birth. This personal birth experience showed me how life-changing this work can be and with those cherished memories always present, I strive to be for others what my birth doula was for me.
I am proud to offer my services as a birth doula and thankful for the opportunity to help women to feel loved and supported as they enter the beautiful and rewarding world of motherhood. In addition to my own experience, I also have roots in Holistic Medicine. I earned certifications in reflexology, aromatherapy, classic homeopathy, infant and baby massage, and postpartum nutrition while in my native Israel. I ran my own private clinic before moving to the United States in 2010 which gave me important experience in prioritizing comprehensive patient care. After relocating, I focused on building a home, raising my two children, and finding my place in my new community. Now that my children are older, I am called back to this work.
I have been formally trained as a Childbirth Doula through The Simkin Center for Allied Birth Vocations. This included training on pregnancy, childbirth, lactation, and postpartum care. I continue to study the latest holistic research and techniques. My natural approach, coupled with my desire to help create a beautiful experience, allows women to know that they are in good hands with someone by their side who can take care of any needs that may arise during the childbirth process. I have dedicated myself to developing essential skills to nurture, heal, and support women. I look forward to meeting and working with you!
